Our Story…
We opened our boutique in the beautiful, historic Downtown Appleton Wisconsin in November of 2011, after years of selling shabby chic antiques in a couple of local antique malls.
God blessed us with amazing, loyal customers and we outgrew our first location Downtown within our first year. We were lucky enough to find a much larger space to call home in November of 2012 and are sooo happy we have!! Downtown Appleton is amazing… we couldn’t be happier to be part of such an amazing community! We are a family-run, faith based small business sharing with you the things we find and love!
We love all of the familiar faces we see each week… customers that have become our extended family… along with all of the visitors and smiling faces stopping by on their journeys!

Here is a little peek at our Vintage Garden family…
Toni, owner of The Vintage Garden, decided to step away from the corporate world to pursue her passion of shabby, vintage treasures and interior design! She and her husband Phil, took a leap of faith and so far have been blessed with fabulous customers and a bustling boutique! Toni loves every phase of the business, from traveling the state finding vintage treasures, to refinishing furniture, to displaying our finds, to helping customers through their decorating qualms. It’s hard to choose a favorite! However, her passion is, and always has been, furniture! As you wander through The Vintage Garden, you are sure to notice our refinished, re-loved, shabby, and distressed furniture, all uniquely hand-painted!
While Toni’s husband Phil provides the muscle behind many of The Vintage Garden’s projects, his passion lies in his law enforcement career… and of course being an amazing husband!
Toni’s dad, Lynn, recently retired and has quickly become a familiar face at the shop. We appreciate his vast knowledge of fixing ‘things’ and entertaining our crazy ideas of repurposing junque! He is often at the shop helping out while Toni and her mom are off finding vintage goodies! He has found his niche in our home décor world of primarily women and enjoys joking around with customers while providing helpful insight for questions! In his time away from the shop Lynn enjoys hunting, fishing and has vast collections of vintage clocks, pipes and radios!
Toni’s mom, Sue, is also a huge help! She and Toni do all of the furniture re-finishing and dream up new creations! We have Sue’s extensive collections to thank for kick-starting the business. We decided to start selling in the antique malls when Sue and Lynn began to downsize their household – at that time, not anticipating we’d someday have a boutique of our own! The antique mall sales took off and after a couple of years, we decided to take the step of opening our own shop. And we are so glad we did., thanks of course to all of our great customers! Sue is our Queen of Details! She is great at all of the little things. She loves to sew and has the patience to create lovely little treasures! Sue’s favorite part of the business is definitely finding the goodies!
The newest addition to our Vintage Garden family is Nancy... we enjoy having her on our team as she is friendly, enjoys chatting with customers and has a strong faith! Nancy is super creative and creates beautiful greeting cards in her spare time. She will be happy to help you on your next visit!
